How do I reset the number of processors my computer thinks it has through DOS?

Due to my error it thinks it has 8 when it really has one. I know how to fix it, but the problem is that I can't get past the blue screen of death that this has caused. I can access DOS or CMD or whatever it is called through the startup repair.
