How do you disable ctrl+click operating as right click on an Intel Mac?

I absolutely need ctrl+click for a certain program, which does not have an option for changing controls, and will NOT let me use cmd+click as an alternative. I'm running a real Mac OS 10.6.7 on a real computer, not a virtual machine, and I can right click just fine with my trackpad without ctrl-click and I need it out. Can anyone help me?
