Can anyone explain to me why is this happening?

I think it is because it might be a cultural shock to them because it is different from their own culture and they have never seen or heard of such things , that is why they act in such manner but i think that it pretty cool to have 216 cousin and 29 uncle :) I hoped that i have helped you but i don't think that my answer is the best answer but i hope that this might give you an rough idea
